A Monday Prayer for Adventuring with God
I offer this simple prayer to begin your week of adventuring with God! Pray it over your own life and watch Him color your world with His joy.
Dear Father, I surrender this day and this week to you, with all its mundane moments– work, family, preparing for a journey, getting the dog groomed.
Surround me with your goodness. Walk with me through this week and delight my heart as I see you in the everyday. Overwhelm me with your love in this tangled tapestry called life.
Open my eyes to notice your colorful fingerprints in the barrage of images. Unstop my ears to hear your loving voice within the noise of a busy world.
Stir my faith to perceive the adventure as I walk through the ordinary.
Equip me to enter this day, this week, with spiritual eyes wide open – to see you first, and to be aware of the desperate hope in others for a Savior. May I extend your kindness with love.
To function properly, I need your words, Father. I need your affirmation and gentle pat on the back. I need your wisdom, kind correction and redirection. I ask for your hand in mine. Oh, and joy…send that joy of yours, please. Let it bubble up in every nook and cranny of my life.
Another thing. Will you sing over me?
I hope that doesn’t sound weird, but just as my Daddy would sing with us, I long to hear the soothing song of your presence. I yearn for your voice, just as I do my earthly father’s.
Let me never take precious ones for granted, Father. Forgive me when I have and help me make it right… speaking words of love and affirmation over them, just as you do over me.
Infuse me with your abundant life. Walk with me, beside me, and in me as we venture forth bravely into this new day and new week. I’m excited about the possibilities!
Adventuring with you is a pleasure and an honor, Lord.
In Jesus’ precious name. AMEN.
”The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 NIV
